Tatty Bye

Sat here watching Scrubs and drinking peach and guava fruit tea. What could make this scene near on perfect? Oh yeah, my current copy of Tatler. Haven't read much of it yet, but gotta love a bargain mag - £1 instead of the usual £3.90 because of a voucher. Every little certainly helps at the moment.

One thing I love to do with my collection of magazines is sit and compare certain things - mainly what the different editors have sighted as the "Hot Autumn Looks" for this year - a feature which is in both my Tatler and Vogue this month.

Not a lot else to say now. Gotta go do the food shop later :( However it does mean a quick mooch around the clothes section of le supermarket.... Might even find myself a bargain perhaps. A girl can certainly hope anyway!

Normal, decent blogging will eventually resume, I'm hoping [=

Lace it...

Ok, so nothing but sheer laziness can excuse my lack of blogging lately so no bullsh*t excuses for that.
Not a lot of news really either; and certainly no outfit pictures. So major fail on blogging for me.
I am HOWEVER majorly craving some more lacey things. I have my yummy pretty pale blue lacey strap top.... But it's not very warm and as we're heading into winter, I could do with something lacey and warm. I did find something the other day that I want, but do you think for the life of me I can remember what store it was from or what email the picture was in? Bloody typical.

I also crave these tights, but having minor issues justifying the £8 they cost when I'm broke. Damn recession.
Continuing the shopping note, I'm also on a hunt for improving my winter wardrobe; it's getting into pretty good shape for Autumn - plenty of items for layering to keep me warm in the mornings and evenings; and ability to strip off a few in the warmth of the afternoons.
On things to keep me super duper warm all day long though? Bit short of warm, practical things though. I'm contemplating another trip to Uniqlo for some warm gorgeous things because I sure as hell love their stuff.
Also gonna have to find a bit of time to sit down and have a proper browse through the endless lists of clothes websites I adore including:
ASOS
BooHoo
River Island
Topshop
Dress For Less

I also wanna have a browse round one of "The Affordable Vintage Fairs", cos I reckon it'd be pretty damn awesome. I just need to find time that I can easily get to one and you should to. Check it here.

Anyway, gotta run, low battery and a job to go do. Only 11 shifts left after today (not that I'm counting) and then I'm done with this job. Yay!

Figure it out

So this is a previously shown shirt (Uniqlo) in one of the other outfit combinations I mentioned when I first showed it. I've got my leggings (who knows where they came from though...) and a belt (again, I have no idea where it came from... woops) to help cinch in the waist so I vaguely have a figure.

Also, I just wanted to show you the thing boyfriend got me for passing my test - a bit delayed because of postal strikes, but amazing none the less.
Eventually intend to get a real one. Woo

Working Girl

As promised, this is what I wore for my interview today, only with the matching jacket to go with the trousers. I couldn't include that in the snapshot because it was downstairs being steamed by my wonderful mother to get the creases out from where I had had it hanging in my wardrobe.
Felt very smart, although a little bit like a girl playing dress up in her mother's clothes, but I always feel a bit like that when I;m dressed smartly. The suit (Warehouse) - trousers and jacket - were bought for me a while back now; about 18 months I'd say, for when I had interviews and the like, and I do adore it. It's so versatile, the jacket looks great with jeans, I just never have the balls to wear it out apart from with my suit trousers because I'm terrified I'll drop something down it or damage it. Me no likey drycleaning bills!

I actually wore this on the way to the interview just because my jacket is quite thick, and also a little constricting, so I went for all out grey to keep myself warm enough whilst I was driving, but cool enough that I wasn't sweating buckets. Yummy imagery, I know.

Blogging will probably become quite sporadic again now (more so than normal anyway) as the boyfriend is home until beginning of October, plus I need to find a new job around my current one; so busy busy busy. I will do my best though.

Oh and in case you're wandering; I think I screwed up the interview, but I realised I don't really want the job anyway - all catering based, and I'm not too good with food! The hunt continues.... Looks like the suit will be getting more outings that in recent months.

Hit the high road

I've been shopping again! Really getting in the mood for this winter lark - got me some sexy fingerless gloves today (only £3 by Florence + Fred @ Tesco) which'll be good for driving - my hands are ALWAYS freezing.
I also bought a really nice scarf (£7 @ Next), which'll go nicely for smart and casually. Happiness like.

I also FINALLY managed to find myself a pair of boots that are comfy and I like etc. They're really nice. I can't remember what store I bought them from, but at less than £25, I don't really mind. Will show pictures eventually, but for now I have to prepare for my interview tomorrow morning. Getting a bit nervous now, but hey, I usually manage to blag it, so it'll be fine.
Sexy suit for tomorrow's interview, if I get chance before going, I'll try to get a picture. I do, however, have to be up at 6.45, which is just an un-Godly hour in my book. Hehe.
Nothing much else to say for now, so I'm out for now.

Hot Chocolate & Working Days

As promised, I finally got around to uploading pictures of items 2 & 3 that I bought on my London shopping trip. :) Sooo, these are it; a grey boyfriend cardigan (New Look) and the shirt (River Island) which isn't completely showing, but I will make an effort to get a proper pic up of that on it's own at some point.
Also combined it with my uniform skinny jeans (Criminal Damage @ Blue Banana) because I needed to look vaguely smart for a quick meeting after work.

So now, I'm sat chilling - almost literally - in my room drinking chocolat chaud (that's hot chocolate to all you non-frenchie-speaking ones =P) out of my San Francisco mug that my brother got me whilst he was in America a couple of years back. I decided it was vaguely photo worthy as it's got a great texture to it.

Also, feel free to note the lack of hair in my first photo - that's right, it's all gone short again, finally!

Hack it off babe...

Today is a good day.
Today is the proper beginning of new start. The new start actually started last Friday when I passed my test; but now I have something to show for this new start.

I had all my hair cut off today - back to my usual pixie crop that I try to keep until I grow it out to cut it off again. I've been waiting for this moment since July, when my test was originally supposed to be.
I also started contacting people for other work.
It's a good day. It's gonna get better as well hopefully.

Shall also go shopping again soooooon [=
Get me even more clothes.

Home Sweet Home

I'm back from London, and a wee bit shopped out.
However, I am home with disappointingly few purchases, which I'll be putting up gradually as I wear them.
I guess the recession has certainly had a big bite on my bank balance and I really hadn't realised until I went shopping this week.

I'm still desperately in need of a pair of boots as well. Need to work out where I'm gonna get them from and how much I can afford to spend on them. Hmmmm.

Anyway, so this this is item number one that I bought:
So this shirt (Uniqlo) is gorgeous.... It's long enough to wear with tights as a dress. Or with leggings if I want a bit more coverage. Or like in this shot - with skinny jeans (Criminal Damage from a friend).
So yeah, not a bad buy in my opinion.

Gotta head off to work now, so more later.

Apologies....

So my blog had been feeling neglected of late, and I'm afraid it'll be feeling even more so over the next few days.
Firstly I'll excuse myself for the last few days: work has been like hectic around driving lessons and.... dun, dun DUN! My test this morning! Which I am tres tres tres happy to announce I passed!
As a result, all energy have been pushed into that and I had to work this evening as we are in sale at Debenhams. Yay oh bloody yay.
So yeah, thus the neglection from last coupla days. And now to excuse myself for the next few days.
Saturday - Monday I shall be in London doing some shopping for myself (: And for friends perhaps. But mainly for me so I can feel like I have clothes to wear again. Thus I shall have no laptop, however I fully intend to take my camera with me so pictures will hopefully happen when I return home sometime on Monday... or definitely on Tuesday/Wednesday. I'm also gonna get all my hair hacked off again (thank christ, it's REALLY annoying me now) and yeah. New start to be honest.

So that's much excitement in my world now. And a really rather poorly written blog. No matter though, I'm too happy to care =D.

Toxic Love

So today I was having a mooch across some websites on my usual hunt for clothes that I want/like/need or inspire me.... and yet again I fell in love;
Dear Diary;
Once more I fell in love with an article of clothing:
"I want you, I need you, oh baby, oh baby"
(To quote Kat from 10 Things I Hate About You just without the sarcasm, darling)

As per usual, there is a minor thing stopping me from clickety clicking on "Add To Shopping Bag" and that would be it's price tag. £69.00 for a (as my mum so nicely put it) "jumper that's more like a t-shirt! It hasn't even got sleeves!"
Gotta love my Mum's attitude at times, it's what gave me my crazy personality but level-headedness and ability to control my cash-flow. None the less, she doesn't always quite get my style... No worry though, she claims to be my biological mother (and sadly I think I must believe her) and therefore she clearly knows what is best for me and understands me on a deeper level. A much, much, much deeper level; but I'm pretty sure some level none the less.

Oh, and just in case you're wondering, the sweater is from ASOS, with its direct link being here.
*whimper*

Doctor, Doctor...

Dear Diary,
I fell in love again today. I want some Doctor Martens. I'm gonna have to ask for some for my 18th, because, man, I can't live without:

These lovelies are £90.00 *whimper*
These lovelies are a shorter version of the above pair and priced at a slightly less painful level of £75.00
And these one, are quite possibly my favourite though obviously I haven't quite decided yet. I need to try them all on, but they remind me of my heeled brogue-like shoes that I wear for work.
These one are also priced at the whimpering level of £90.00 though :(

I think I need to get my arse back to work and do me some overtime, woops. Save some money and buy me some GAWJUS shoes. With that horrendous spelling of gorgeous (:

"Cos I love that girl"

This is the dress (Bay) that I'm in love that I mentioned a while back. It's so easy to wear with so many different things. For example today it's just with a plain white tee (Cherokee @ Tesco) and black tights (Debenhams). Another day though I might wear it with my bright blue tights and fishnet tights over the top of those with just a simple black strap top underneath to hide the bra.

It's a bit too cold to be wearing it today, in all honesty. Practicality never has really been my thing though, and also I need comfort after the injections they did into my stomach yesterday to fix my pain :(.

On an all together more positive note it's only 87 days until I turn 18, and I really need to come up with some more ideas as what I'd like for my birthday; Mum's especially pestering for something that she can buy me as a "main" gift because it is a big number. And I just have no ideas what so ever. Thinking about it though, I still crave a pair of Doc Martens, so maybe I'll have a look into that....

Baggy Trousers Jeans

I am currently being forced to live in baggy jeans (from a friend of a friend). It is a self inflicted "force" but a a necessity none the less as anything too tight that puts pressure on my hips is making my stomach hurt. Stupid suspected hernia. No matter though, later today I find out what it actually is, if I have a reoccurring hernia or if it's something else.
Feeling quite shivery though so ending up throwing on this jumper (Primark according to label =S) over the top of my lacy strap top (Florence & Fred @ Tesco) which you can see the strap of underneath the jumper. You can also see the strap of my bra (Floozie by Frost French @ Debenhams) which is naughty I know. However, I do quite like the ruffles on the side, so I thought it was quite a nice touch.

In other news I have been doing virtual window shopping across clothes websites. I'm trying to decide what things I want to purchase when I get around to going on a big shopping trip. So far it's been unsuccessful with nothing really catching my eye; however; yesterday when I was having a quick mooch around the shops in Oxford before work, I fell in love with a few pairs of boots at River Island. They're beautiful but sadly a wee bit out of my price range. Here's one of the pairs that I managed to find on their website as well:
They genuinely are gorgeous in my opinion, and they felt so soft and lovely in my hands. I also like that the heel isn't too high as basically I need a pair of waterproof boots that I can wear day in, day out to work and such like that are also so comfy my feet never ache, even if I'm walking for hours and hours on end. I didn't try them on as I was a bit short on time to ask if they had my size and because I didn't want to risk falling further in love with them =(

I'm still pawing over the pages of Harper's Bazaar. I swear I love that magazine about the same amount as Vogue and there's certainly something about having a brand new magazine to flick through and read and hold and something. Also I just love the size of it. I know that's an odd thing to say, but something about the size of Harper's Bazaar just makes it seem so dominating and like you have to pick it up and read it thoroughly; but maybe that's just me.

Kerplunk

Today it looked reasonable warm out so I threw on; after much deliberation; black leggings (location forgotten) and my pink jumper (a store in Auckland, New Zealand). Perhaps not the most creative but I haven't worn a combination like this in forever.
Today I have also decided that I really need to buy a thesaurus, mainly because I am sooo bored of using the same words over and over.

Mucho excitement on my part though as I am *hopefully* going on a big shopping trip next Saturday [[not this Saturday, the next one :)]], so that shall be awesome.
However, I'm not in such a good mood as I may be forced to live in jeans and tshirts and separates in general again for a while as my hernia may well have returned which means being poked at; a lot. If they decide to operate, it also means that I have to give up my skinny jeans and tight tops again for a while =[. Simply because I can't wear them due to the pressure they put on the scar area.
Damn.

Anyway, as per usual, I shall blog later. I'm currently traipsing through my copy of Harper's Bazaar. Mucho in love with it at the moment. I'll have something worth while to read written up once I get a bit of time and some stuff from there. :)

Dear Diary....

Tonight, I fell in love.
[[with this place]]

Today it's quite nice out, but a little chilly with the wind so I thought, soddit I'll wear a skirt (Primark) and one of my white tshirts (from a friend) that I rediscovered when chucking out a load of clothes the other day. As per usual, I decided to hide the pale legs with my tights (Debenhams) and also because it's an extra layer.

I also finally got round to taking pictures of my bag (Camden Market) and the earrings I bought on Sunday (from Juliaz Jewelz @ a local country show).
The badges on the bag are from a band called My Passion, who are quite cool if you're into that sorta thing (I am). :) I haven't quite figured out what the letters stand for, but hey, any suggestions are welcome. I really don't care at the end of the day, I just adore this bag. I can fit pretty much everything in it.

Will blog more later, but gotta run for lunch and stuff now. [=
