Stress Stress Stress.

So it's less than 48 hours until I move to London and omgosh I'm getting stressed! Haha. I finally sorted out my internet (I think) for when I get there. Now I just need to actually pack and organise myself and be all in order. Haha, that'll be a first.

Anyway, here's what I wore to work yesterday:
Black skirt (Marks and Spencers), white shirt (Topshop) and tights (Debenhams). I also chucked on my boyfriend cardigan (New Look) that I seem to live and die in at the moment. So yeah, nothing interesting, but I'm happy :)

Last night, I also got my hair cut, something to last me for once I run away to London town, because I won't get to see my lovely hairdresser, and I'm not letting anyone else hack off my hair the way I let him do it....
This picture doesn't really do it full justice at all. I just took some quick snapshots last night before Mum bundled me into the shower (not quite literally) because she didn't want me dropping hair all over the place. Some people just have NO sense of adventure. Ha!
I got lots of compliments on the cut today at work; one person even went as far as to say "it makes you look like a catwalk model". I reminded her that she wasn't wearing her glasses and told her not to be daft. But the compliment was appreciated none the less. So maybe I'll be sticking with this pixie-ness for as long as possible.

In other news, right now I'm totally loving an artist called "Lights" (check her myspaz here). I think Saviour is the song she currently has out as it was played on one of the music channels a little while ago, and that's how I heard of her.
I'm also thinking she's rather gorgeous. I mean seriously, check out this photo:
(with it's direct link here, and therefore full credit)
I mean, seriously. So pretty! And she has a lovely style. Nothing mahoosively special, but just simple and not over the top. Which is nice to see.
Don't get me wrong, I'm all for couture and OTT pieces a la Lady Gaga and Rihanna. But from time to time, it is awfully nice to just see some one pulling off "normal" as an extraordinary look.

Anyway, that's quite enough for now. I have to clear off a pinboard to take with me, and pack up a few bits and pieces and generally make an effort to acknowledge that I'll be in London alone in less than 48 hours. Meep!

Just a Quick One

So I've been really ill today and yesterday, so have had no motivation to do really anything much.
However, Dear Diary, I want!
I'm totally in love with this little number from Miss Selfridge, and it's just come into their sale - dropping from a slightly painful £38 to a far more tolerable £15... So if anyone would like to buy it for me, I'm gonna reckon on needing a size 10, possibly 8 at a push with all the weight I dropped from this stupid stomach bug... I'll love you forever if you buy it me :D

In other news, we're on the big count down now until the move and the start date - 8 days until I move, and 11 days until I do my first day. I'm so excited! I'm thinking I'm going to make this a new start, get away from everything that's made me mess up around here, and hopefully do better this time. That said, if all else fails, I'm just going to join a convent and be done with it.
I'm sure you can totally imagine me in a nun's outfit... That said, I just googled the word "nun" to try and find a picture to shove in here that would be vaguely amusingly serious... and mainly only slutty nuns came up. Maybe that's not my best idea.... We'll see I guess =]

Have a good weekend, I'm going to go finish being ill now!

The Cuddle Monster

So we're getting closer and closer to the leaving day. I'm getting more and more excited.
Tomorrow I'm having a *not* well-earned day off work, to try and go shopping for some bits and pieces for my new place, and also collect some more work related clothing.

Anyway, I've been a bit of a failure with regular posts, so I'm gonna do a double picture post today to try and vaguely compensate.
Here's what I wore yesterday:
New skirt (Marks and Spencers) which I'm loving how it feels when I wear it. I wore it one day last week with the plain black top that has the batwing sleeves. To throw in a bit of colour (because I can at this job), I popped on this bow top (New Look). Add in some nice simple 10 denier hold ups (Marks and Spencers - bargain at £5 for 2 pairs), and you have my outfit from yesterday. Was very comfortable and I have to be honest, I felt pretty good about myself :)

Then today I wore this in the evening:
I wore this top (Marks and Spencers) during the day with my suit trousers (Warehouse) for work. When I got home I wanted out of formal clothes, so I chucked on my skinny jeans (Criminal Damage from a friend) and left it at that. The necklace (Vintage) I've worn all day because I adore it... It looks so pretty and delicate and added a tiny hint of colour to an otherwise reasonably monotone outfit, formal or informal.

I haven't decided what to wear tomorrow yet, I think I'm gonna wait to see what the weather's like before I decide whether to risk shorts and tights (we can pretend it's summer if we want to!) or whether I should just stick with warmer clothes. We'll see I guess. :) Hopefully, if I get time I'll be able to stick pictures up. But all depends because tomorrow is looking busy busy busy. Excitement.

P.S. I'd like some cuddles please. I'm awfully excited to be moving to London but will be missing my friends and people, so yeah, cuddles would be good. Make me the cuddle monster ;)

Here Comes The Sun

So at last, the sun has come out and he has got his hat on. This makes me extremely happy. I'm also extremely happy as I went flat hunting yesterday, and I finally! found somewhere. Yay!
This is what I wore to look presentable, and likeable. I didn't want to look too teenager-y, but didn't want to look over-the-top professional considering I was on a day off. Skinny jeans (Criminal Damage from a friend) cos there was a bit of a cold edge when we left; t-shirt (Marks and Spencers) that's actually going to be a work top as well, necklace (Lady Luck Rules Okay) and then my sunglasses (Duty Free at Belfast airport :D) that are getting worn to death as they're the most expensive pair of sunnies I've ever purchased at a whole £25. Worth every penny though.

Away from fashion-y things though, I'm SO glad to finally have somewhere to live in London, was starting to get really worried that I wasn't going to be able to find anywhere that wasn't a complete crap-hole! But it's lovely. I move in May 1st, and hopefully I'll be able to put some pictures and stuff up after I've started to move my stuff in. I have two wardrobes! It's a dream come true, I finally won't be stuck for space for my clothes! It's also giving me a fabulous excuse to have a clean slate for the colour scheme of my room. I'm going to go with fairly neutral black, grey, cream and white, with the odd splash of magenta to brighten it up. I fully intend to post pictures as soon as there are some =].

Hope everyone's had a fabulous weekend and isn't being too badly affected by this volcanic ash malarkey. My car has got a horrible coating of dust on it :( so will have to give it a wash (and cuddle) before I abandon it for London. Excitement! I'm now off to figure out what on earth I want to wear tomorrow for work. So many new lovely clothes, so little time!

Thinking it over...

Today I had to attend a funeral. I wore a gorgeous *new* dress that looked pretty good and I felt pretty good. I forgot to take a picture before I left though. Now the dress, due to it's linen content, is in dire need of an iron, and I'm feeling far too lazy to put it on again anyway, just to take a picture. So you'll see that one some other time. :)
Instead, I offer you a picture of some of my other new clothes. I wore this outfit to work yesterday, and I must say, considering I usually hate high waisted things, it was very comfortable!
Everything is from Marks and Sparks (Marks & Spencers to the normal folk), bar me, my watch and earrings... Not bad, eh?

Anyway, onto non-fashion related things. I'm still desperately trying to find somewhere to live and I'm fast running out of time! Eep. This is going to be fun, I think not. I'm also desperately trying to find a way to do flat viewings on Saturday and have a social life on Saturday night... This is going to be difficult methinks.

Back to clothing related matters. Tomorrow I think I'm going to stick to suit trousers (it was rather chilly today, so much for summer!) and team it with one of the new jumper-tops I bought and my light blue lace strappy top. Methinks this will look good, even if I am just sat in an office all day inputting invoices - major yawn!

Anyway, hopefully will remember to take a picture tomorrow, if not, you may shoot me :) However this would result in no further posting of pictures anyway, so maybe not such a good idea.

P.S. Does anyone else remember how much "Standing in the Way of Control" by The Gossip rocked? I keep falling in love with it every time I listen. Go find it some place and listen. ♥

Shop 'Til You Drop

So ever since I found out I got the job, life has been crazy busy with work. I still have an awful lot left to do, but I'm slowly working my way through it. I have nowhere to live, still, but today I went shopping to buy clothes for work.
I would stand and take pictures of everything, but quite frankly, I don't think I have the motivation at the moment. It's been a long day traipsing around Marks and Sparks for 2 and half hours, Selfridges for an hour, and viewing a flat that wasn't up to my incredibly high standards.
This is what I wore to do it all in:
Dress (Bay), long sleeved top (Primark) and tights (Debenhams).
Today, whilst shopping I have managed to purchase 3 skirts, one dress, 6 tops and a pair of shoes. All in black. I really look ready to go to a funeral.... Which I also have to do on Wednesday.

Hopefully as the week progresses, and I get to wear a few bits and pieces from new wardrobe, I'll remember and have the time/motivation to take and post pictures of what I've got.
I feel a bit sad that one of the things I'm looking forward to the most is getting to wear all these things :D But hey, I've always been clothes obsessed.

Anyway, off I run, have to find homes for all these new things, and try to find a place to live, 'else I'm going to be in a cardboard box for few weeks of this job. Wahey!

What I ended up wearing...

So this is what I ended up wearing today because it was cold and totally not summer. Leggings (H&M), shirt (H&M) and jumper (Primark, menswear section). I liked the clashing patterns of this and the sense of male-geek-chic... Although it didn't go, it kinda made it go in an odd sort of way. Or perhaps that's just me?

Also, today, I began to unpersonalise my room. This involved the removal of posters from pretty much everywhere, with only the ones that are in frames or nailed to the walls staying up... It's rather odd and my room seems a bit darker now, but omgosh, it's exciting. The reality that I've got a job with my dream company is finally starting to set in, and quite honestly, I've never been happier =] Very little could improve my mood.
Here's some pictures of dark, empty walls:

There's not really a lot else I can say about this. Have a good evening :)

Make it Summer!

I want it to be summer now please!
I finished my shorts last night... and I want to be able to wear them today with my shirt (H&M) but I can't :( Because it's barely 10°c. So I've been confined to leggings for today.

More/better pictures of finished shorts up when I've gotten bored and put some decoration on them as well :)

Drool-Fest

Dear Diary....
I want, I need, I lust....

Please, does some one want to get me one of these in a size 10... It's on sale at BooHoo.com, with its direct link being here... But unfortunately they've sold out of size 10 and even size 8. Boohoo indeed!

I want, I want! Pwetty Please some one? :(

Fibber

I told a fib in my last blog - I said I was gonna try to be in the mood to do things with clothes and put pictures up... and I just haven't worn anything that good this weekend.
I wore my LBD yesterday, but that was for work so doesn't really count. I also had the advantage that there wasn't anything I was lusting after this shift at LK Bennett. Thankfully.

I don't really have much to say, I just hate not blogging regularly. However, I am in the process of hacking up some jeans, because they're falling to bits anyway, but also my burger last week was rude enough to spit a load of fat over one leg...which has then not come out in the wash :( Boo hoo.
The offending stain - circled for even clearer viewing, although still not massively clear in the photo... :(
This is the length I'm intending to have the jeans cut at eventually - at present I'm thinking of going for a rough, unfinished edge - somewhat on trend for Summer, because we like to be on trend, don't we... I took this picture to try and evaluate just how even (or not as the case may be) my guideline was... I'm thinking this is pretty even personally.
None the less, I've drawn on another line as my guide line - I'm gonna hack off here (where it says "cut here" surprisingly enough), because this way I can then fold it back on itself and check it's gonna be even all the way around, before I then make the final cut... This also works with my alternative plan which is to cut on this other line, fold the extra inside and then sandpaper the "neat" edge, so that it becomes far more distressed.

We'll just have to see how it goes I guess... I intend to hack the legs off either tonight or tomorrow, and will certainly put pictures up when this mini-project is complete :)

Hope everyone's having a happy easter and not scoffing too much chocolate ;) Or as much as they want... either or :P

Just a quickie...

This is going to be a very poorly written scrap of a blog, but I want to document this so when I wake up tomorrow, I can reassure myself, multiple times, that this is real and not a dream:

I GOT THE JOB AT SELFRIDGES.

I AM OFFICIALLY GOING TO BE WORKING IN THE LINGERIE DEPARTMENT THERE!

And that's basically all I have to say.
These next couple of weeks are going to be crazy mad as I arrange my start date, contract and training... and try to find a flat and make arrangements for moving ALL my crap.
But I don't care, it's going to be awesome.

That's it for now... I'm hoping I'll be in the mood to make an effort with my clothes tomorrow, so hopefully will have some pictures up soon. :)

P.S. I feel betrayed by Blogger spellcheck - it thinks "Selfridges" is a spelling error. The horror!!!!
