So Many Things, So Little Time

So last night I went to a fellow blogger's house to assist in the taking of photographs for her uni portfolio. I'll be putting up pictures of that when she sends me them through via email hopefully.

However, all the trying on and posing in these gorgeous dresses that she's made, made me want to experiment a little bit with some of my clothes at home here. And seeing as, for once, I actually have motivation, I took a few photos and am making an effort to blog vaguely decently as I always intended this blog to be.
So here are some pictures of my experimentations:
I think this last picture is probably my favourite, but with this set of pictures I was mainly exploring how little coverage is too little; what shapes worked with what, and the different ways I can wear 3 pieces together. Two out of the three items I'm wearing in these pictures are new items I bought whilst in London for New Years. The lace top and the legging (both H&M) are those items. The blazer (Florence + Fred for Tesco) I bought a while back and am always looking for new ways to wear.
I fell in love with the lace top almost as soon as I saw it as I have been looking for the perfect one for a while. At only £9.99, it saved me around £100 on the one that I'd fallen for at L.K. Bennett whilst I was doing some temping there, so obviously I was quite chuffed with that. I think what I particularly like about it is that it is so interchangeable, it can be really dressy and smart; it can be a little slutty (like here), and it can also be suitable for work with the right underneath. I think to wear it out, I'll definitely be wearing my silk strap top so that it keeps decent coverage, but it still looks a little seductive, a little suggestive.
I think I like the bottom of these 3 pictures the best because of the shape it creates and also it doesn't seem quite so in your face (to me anyway) that I'm only wearing a bra (Debenhams) underneath.
I then chucked on this dress (Topshop) with a long sleeved top (Primark) to experiment a little more - I had already decided the other week that it works with my grey striped top; but I was keen to know if worked with colour. My eventual conclusion? Well, it sort of does, but I don't like it as much. Unlike last time, I decided to put on leggings (as before) for a bit more coverage as it is bloody cold out there!
By now my attention span was wearing a bit thin, and I'd been interrupted by the postman delivering things for my brother and boyfriend *growl at the postman*. So i gave up, switched the green top for my ever faithful grey striped one (Primark) and got on with the day.

Finally though, before I finish up for this blog, I just want to share with you one of the outside pictures me and Jennily took last night for her uni portfolio. As my camera as a night time setting on it, we were using it for a few of the pictures in the snow, and I think this is one of my favourites.
Also, as we took this photo, it was snowing again. It was beautiful, and I wasn't all that cold actually, it was very bizarre.

Will probably end up blogging again either today or tomorrow with pictures that Jennily should be sending over to me at some point today. Have a good day and have a quick listen to this band called Mojo Pins; they have a very mellow indie sound, and although I'm obviously biased because one of my friends is in the band, I think they're pretty damn good.
