Of late it would seem I have become fascinated by old, black and white photographs. My Harper's Bazaar arrived in the post yesterday, and in it was featured this picture (and is on page 79 if you're wondering):
This picture is by a photographer called Fernand Fonssagrives (that's the Wiki page) and according to my Harper's Bazaar, was taken around 1935. Wikipedia, however is trying to tell me that he didn't do these photographs experimenting with nudes and shadows until much later in his career.
Ahh the mystery.

Anyway, back to more fashiony-related things, because this is supposed to be a style/fashion/clothes type thing blog. Yeah, that makes sense... Having blogged back in beginning-mid December about a dress that I lusted after (check the post here), I am now happy/disgusted to discover it every where I look.
I'm happy because it means, hell yes, I have good taste and there is slightly more hope there'll be good rip offs on the high street for me to be able to afford.
I am, however, disgusted because it means I'm not as "original", "unique" and "individual" as I like to pretend I am. Bumholey.

Going by Harper Bazaar's mini-trends feature though, there are a few things I'm definitely lusting after following. The Sheer trend that comes in every season to varying degrees; well it's certainly taking my fancy, it has to be said. I just don't know if I would manage to pull it off without looking like a slut... because I seem to be good at that when I don't want to be. Likewise, I am liking the Underwear as Outwear trend. It is rather gorgeous.
I think I'm going to have to look for a corset style thing to wear with tops.

So that was my poorly composed thoughts on bits and pieces of the Spring/Summer 2010 trends. I'm sure I'll write some more coherent pieces as we get a bit warmer - it's just hard to feel Spring-y/Summer-y when we've still got bloody snow!
