Finally, I've gotten around to it and found enough time to blog about last Thursday's episode of Skins - Cook's episode.
In my opinion, Edward K. Gibbon worked his usual fantastic wonders on this episode. He has such a way of capturing a character in their outfits; or perhaps his outfits form the characters - it's hard to be 100% sure either way. All I know is that it works.
Majorly lusting after Cook's checked trousers that he's wearing as he climbs out of his mother's car and the camera zooms in on his security tag. Not many guys can pull that slim cut form of trouser off in a checkered pattern; if they do, they often look emo. Cook, however, brings it into a class of it's own.
And what about Cook's little brother? If I had to have a little brother, I would want one as cool as him (in the early stages of the programme anyway - he turned into a brat as it went on, in my opinion). How adorable did he look in that shirt, trousers and braces combo? Pretty damn adorable.
Aaaaaand his school uniform - well he just rocked that out. Anyone else think of School of Rock film much? Or was that just me?
Whilst we're on the subject of Cook - we also met his mother for the first time on his episode. She seemed a bit of a bitch, but I loved her fiery red hair, almost seemed to match her firework personality. The tailored jacket she wore at her "art" exhibition was gorgeous as well. I want one that good! I want one to look that good on me. I mean, I know it's impossible due to lack of curves, but a girl can dream, can't she?
And finally, we have Effy. As per usual, we only saw her for a few fleeting glances in this episode, and as per usual, she looked a little slutty. But that said, slutty has never looked quite so good.
How many girls do you honestly know, that aren't models, that can pull off tops that show masses of their bra; or skirts that are so short they're almost belts... Especially without looking like a common prostitute. Well our Kaya, who plays Effy, certainly can pull it off. She just looks stunning rather than slutty. Girl Crush ♥
I have nothing else to say about last week's episode really, other than, if you haven't watched it, you must! Even if you only watch it for the clothes. We have Katie's episode tonight, so I'll probably be blogging during the episode if I have any sense.
In other news, I just had a quick browse through Diesel's Black Gold Autumn/Winter 2010/11 collection that's on Telegraph's website (check it here) and fell in love with this little ensemble:
How on earth shorts are suitable for autumn/winter, I'm not sure - but that's fashion for you.I think I'm going to be cool and wear it this summer, with my own twist on it, of course.
I'm thinking my light denim shorts that I made, with grey Florence + Fred top and my leather jacket..... That said I fear the grey top and light denim shorts may clash, so we'll have to see. Will definitely have a play with that idea.
Right, that's it for now. More blog in like an hour or two.
