After this post, I'll only have 3 blogs to make before I hit the ultimate target of 100. And then we'll be aiming for 200. Wow. It will have taken be well over 6 months to reach this point of 100, but hey, life's been crazy.
Anyway, as I've been blogging about all of last week; yesterday it was the Affordable Vintage Fair in Oxford. I went along with fellow blogger Jennily (find her link to the left there) and I think we had a blast. In the end (as usual) I didn't buy any clothing as I couldn't find anything that appealed and fitted and that I could justify the cost of.
I, however, did buy some old photographs as they were fascinating and because I'm like, oh-my-gosh, totally obsessed, like with black and white photos. It just saddens me slightly they can stick a price on people's lost memories. 3 photos for a £1; one was 50p, another was 20p and the other was 30p. I'll stick photos of those up at some point
I also found a denim shirt I quite liked, but it didn't fit that well, and so I decided to stick with the one I nicked from my Mum.
Which coincidentally I'm wearing today:
I've had quite a productive day as well today - I went out this morning with boyfriend to locate where my next temporary assignment is, starting tomorrow (looks like I'm going to have to go at like half 7 - whimper!) for two days. Then when we returned home, I decided to do something with bra that I bought the other week when I went shopping avec boyfriend to Reading (which I thought I blogged about, but apparently not).
I didn't really buy a lot on that trip - just a couple of new bras, both from Debenhams. However, one of the new ones has a tiny bit of plastic from where it's been made that sticks out of the stitching ever so slightly, and therefore scratches my back until it ends up red raw. Ouchie!
Soooo, having established it was something that wouldn't be fixed by washing it, I decided to get all creative on it's ass, and find some ribbon to cover it with. Originally the plan was to use some black ribbon I know I have somewhere, as I thought this would co-ordinate well with the colour of the bra. Being my usual organised self though, I couldn't find it, I could only find purple, so I stuck that on instead. I'm quite pleased with the results - so pleased, in fact, that I wanted to stick up some pictures for show & tell.
Next D.I.Y project will be to remove and replace the buttons on this denim shirt so it's truly my own. I'm in a good mood about it.
Oh and at some point, I will finish making that damn skirt that I started way back in August last year - woops!
